Google just launched callout extensions, a neat add-on to Google AdWords text ads. Here is everything you need to know about callout extensions starting from how to create them, when they show up to why and how to use and manage them.
What are Google AdWords Callout Extensions?
Google AdWords callout extensions have nothing to do with call extensions. Callout is meant quite literally and stands for the addition of specific features to a common text ad after the description line 2.
If you show up in first position, this is where your callout extension would show up:
Description Line 1, Description Line 2
How To Create Callout Extensions
In order to have callout extensions show up, you must create at least two per campaign or ad group. Additionally, callout extensions are only available for "Search Network" or "Search Network with Display Select campaigns".
Why use Callout Extensions?
Callout extensions are a great way to add USPs (Unique Selling Prepositions) to your ads without taking characters away from one of your description lines. Callout extensions are free to use and allow you to set yourself apart from competitors by pointing out specific product or service features such as 24/7 customer service, free shipping, 100% organic, etc.
